Free beer and refreshments to (international beers) snarky patrons
No commentsBy Roberto Garabell
There is a novel way to get a free beer in Spain. At Casa Pocho in the resort city of Cullera offers a on the house beer and tapas to the snarky recession-worn customers that have been coming in the doors. Last week the bar opened up the promotion last week and the findings have been pleasant.
All you have to do is insult the bartender in a unique way. The abuse have to be in good fun, not be malicious, and novel.
Clearly you cannot merely go up to the bartender and call them an obscene word, but one of the better insults that one of the bartenders has heard ever since the beginning of the promotion was that his ears were so large that they reminded the patron of a car with its doors gaping.
The opinion behind the promotion was to assist patrons get some relief from the recession and to offer them a way to vent instead of arguing with their spouses or taking out their anger at home.
Astonishingly, the owner has said that ever since the beginning of the promotion, nobody has taken advantage of the system or even gone over the line in the insults.
I for myself believe that this promotion is amusing. I would like to see a neighborhood bar do something such as this. Instead of sitting at the house and getting angry at the dogs or Chris, I might go to the tavern and get a beer to declare the equal things. I have had bumpy days in the previous year, so bad at times I would likely be able to come home absolutely intoxicated from insulting the bartender.
This is also a lot more useful than throwing things at each other.
Even if it is just a little beer and a number of snacks that only equal to about $2, it is something to get peoples thoughts away from what is going on in the global economy.
